Our Design Process

Step by step

From the first at-home consultation, right through to installation day, here’s what to expect when you embark on our interior design service.

Your at home consultation

Usually lasting an hour to 90 minutes, Rebecca will take the time to get to know your space, how you’d like to use it and what you like, (or don’t like!).

We’ll talk you through some ideas and options available and give you some suggestions that perhaps you hadn’t thought of.

You are welcome to share any moodboards / cuttings you might have, and we’ll take the measurements we need and some pictures for us all to refer back to later on.

Design deposit

Our full design service (after the initial free consultation) is a redeemable deposit of £350 (inc. vat) we’ll deduct that from your total when you spend £1000 or more.

Our design process

From the moment you confirm you’re happy for us to go ahead, we’ll start to source the right pieces for your scheme.

We will pull together a selection of pieces for you to choose from, with recommendations from us as to what would be best for your scheme and to explain why. We will be mindful of the size, the flow of the room, the combination of finishes and textures, the overall feel that these pieces will achieve, but also of your budget & timeframes, and getting you the absolute best possible finish for what you want to achieve.

We will prepare a carefully curated edit of each product type, we would never just show you one suggestion, and this goes for fabrics, wallcoverings and paints too.

Once we are underway with the design, we’ll invite you in for a presentation in our design studio and lounge in Berkhamsted.

The presentation

The presentation meeting in our design studio lounge will be a very immersive experience where we hope you will be inspired by some of our décor and design ideas in our own surroundings. You’ll relax on our bespoke sofas where you can experience the quality and craftsmanship and see many other interesting pieces of furniture and accessories, all of which will be a good demonstration of the type of
quality our items represent.

We will present our designs on our large plasma screen and an ipad where you can take the controls and zoom in for a better look. We will also present you with a few carefully curated trays of fabric and wallpaper samples if those are required. You’ll be able to play with the fabrics in the trays, editing your favourite designs to create a scheme that’s totally bespoke to you.

You can then take away any of the samples and the digital design to look at at home, while you consider the scheme and selections you choose to make.

The order process

Once you’re happy to proceed with your selection, we will start to secure the items with the manufacturers on your behalf and book in production slots on bespoke upholstered pieces and window dressings. We may need to attend to undertake a final measure for the window treatments at this point.

Our bespoke upholstery pieces can be put into production with a 50% deposit upfront, with the remaining 50% payable prior to delivery.

Our window treatments can be put into production with a payment to cover the costs of the fabric, with the curtain makers’ costs payable around a week prior to installation. On the occasion that a fitter is required to fit the window treatments, payment can be made directly to them on the day of installation.

The installation

On the day itself, we will be there to supervise and for the final styling touches.

We can also recommend trades who can install chandeliers, hang mirrors etc for you, so do let us know if you’d like help with that.
